J.B. Weisenfels has lived in rural Arkansas for three decades. She is a writer, a mom, and a graduate student. She is also an avid collector of tacky fish whatnots, slightly chipped teapots, and other old things. In her spare time she enjoys driving to the nearest creek to sit a while. If you were to visit her, she'd try to feed you cornbread.
Baby, it’s cold outside. It might not seem like a fantastic time to visit an amazing Arkansas State Park, but you can enjoy some truly lovely sights at Mount Magazine. Arkansas’s highest point is easy to see from your car or from the warmth of the sublime lodge you’ll find there. The views from the overlooks are unspeakably beautiful if you’re up to braving the cold for a few minutes, and there’s no time like the present to get out there and enjoy a little natural beauty right before all that holiday stress threatens our peace.
